Purina – Pro Plan Focus
One of the most common question we are asked by new Pomsky owners is “What food should I buy for my Pomsky?” We recommend Purina Pro Plan Focus. This recommendation comes from a POA breeder. Here is what they had to say about the Pomsky Diet: My fall-back brand is Purina Pro Plan Focus – their new line of foods that came out in the last year or so is incredibly well backed by research and really well-liked by people I respect. The best food for a Pomsky is a food that works for that individual Pomsky. The most important factor to me is a dog food with a solid, meat-protein-focused ingredient list that I can purchase consistently that comes from a company with good quality control- no companies who outsource their food production for me! There are some breed-specific concerns with some Siberians (zinc deficiency) but they’re rare even in Sibes, so while pet owners should be aware, they shouldn’t rule an owner’s choices. You can see all of our recommended food in our blog Pomsky Diet – Best Dog Food For The Pomsky Breed.

The breeder further clarified that there is no one single best food. She said: The best food for a Pomsky is a food that works for that individual Pomsky. Zukes – Mini Training Treats
Zukes mini dog treats are a must for new Pomsky owners. They are small enough that you don’t overfeed your puppy, but tasty enough that your Pomsky will be wanting more. These are the treats I use for training, perfect for grabbing a handful to last for 10-15 minutes in a training session. You can see all of our recommended treats in our blog Best Dog Treats For The Pomsky Breed.
We highly recommend Zukes mini dog treats. They are small enough that you don’t over feed your puppy, but tasty enough that your Pomsky will be wanting more. These are the treats I use for training, perfect for grabbing a handful to last for 10-15 minutes in a training session.
These will get you the most bang for your buck, these are the treats I use.
Here is Zuke’s description: Perfectly sized for use as a training reward, these tasty treats let you congratulate him for a job well done whenever the timing is right. Each variety of Zuke’s Mini Naturals dog treats is made with high-quality protein, wholefood berries and savory herbs with no corn, wheat or soy, so you make your canine companion’s taste buds sing at snack time.
Here is what one of our breeders had to say about Pomsky treats: For treats, the most important factor to me is size. We clicker train, and a ‘morsel’ treat for a small pomsky puppy is typically VERY small- about half the size of a lentil! Treats that are either already very small, soft enough to break up easily, and don’t crumble to treat-dust are a hit with us! Zukes Mini Naturals are one brand that we use fairly regularly, as well as freeze-dried liver and chicken breast, tiny silvers of string cheese, and canned pate-style dog food in a tube that allows us to squeeze out just a tiny lick as a reward.
Vanessa of Archangel Pomsky also recommends Zukes. Here is what Vanessa had to say about Pomsky treats:
At ArchAngel Pomskies we use zukes mines, and pet botanicals for our main training treats, they are just the right size to do a training session.
Credit to Vanessa of Archangel Pomsky for this recommendation.
PetSafe – Easy Walk Dog Harness
Pomskies love to pull. If this is your first Pomsky, you are in for a treat. Once they are big enough, they will pull you all over the road. We highly recommend the easy walk harness by PetSafe. This is the harness we use, its the one I recommend first to all Pomsky owners. Pomskies, much like Huskies, love to pull when walking on leash. The easy walk harness deters pulling. Unlike traditional dog harnesses, the front leash attachment of the Easy Walk Harness steers your dog to your side to reduce or stop leash pulling. You can see all of our recommended treats in our blog Best Dog Harness For The Pomsky Breed.

Here is PetSafe’s description: The PetSafe Easy Walk Harness gently discourages your dog from pulling while on a leash. Easy to fit and comfortable to wear, the Easy Walk Harness makes walking enjoyable for you and your dog. The front-chest leash attachment helps you steer your dog to the side and redirect his attention toward you. The chest strap rests across your dog’s chest instead of putting pressure on the delicate throat, so there’s no choking or gagging. Now you can take the lead and enjoy the freedom of stress-free walks.

Pet Zone – IQ Treat Ball
Pomskies are full of energy. You are going to need some engagement toys. OurPets IQ Treat Ball is my favorite engagement toy. Fill it up with kibble or training treats and let your Pomsky ware off some energy trying to get the treats out of the ball. This is a great energy management toy. I used this one for my puppies, highly recommend it. You can see all of our recommended engagement toys in our blog Best Engagement Toys For Pomskies.

Benebone – Wishbone Chew Toy
Your Pomsky is going to chew. Coming into your home, they will be chewing right away. And it’s going to last for MONTHS. You need some chew toys. My dogs love the Benebone products. Here is one that I love (and my dogs love). It’s the Benebone wishbone chew toy. It is a tough hard nylon material that cannot break (no matter how hard your Pomsky may try) so your pup cannot ingest the material. Also, it’s flavored! You can see all of our recommended chew toys in our blog Best Pomsky Chew Toys.

Here is the description: At Benebone, we started with the premise that dogs experience scent and flavor in a way we can’t even grasp. So, we ditched the neon colors and loud squeaks. Inspired by the dog’s powerful sense of smell, we developed a long-lasting durable chew that’s jam-packed with real flavor. Once your dog takes a bite of our USA-made chews, he’ll be hooked.

Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush
Pomskies shed. You probably know that by now. You will need a good shedding brush. We recommend the Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush for frequent brushings. It is designed for long hair to help remove the loose undercoat on Pomskies and untangle hair. It’s also easy to clean. The bristles retract into the brush head, making it easy to remove clumps of loose undercoat from your Pomsky and clean the brush. For deshedding season, you will also want a grooming rake for plush and wooly coats. You can see all of our recommended grooming tools in our blog Best Grooming Products For Pomskies.

Amazon Basics – Dog Crate
The best crate that we’ve seen is the Amazon Basics Dog Crate. It’s a good simplistic option for a Pomky dog crate. I used this one with my puppies (though I didn’t use it for long because they didn’t need it). This one was super easy to set up, it easily folds for travel and was lightweight and easy to take from place to place. You can see all of our recommended crates in our blog Best Dog Crate For The Pomsky Breed.
